DM800se HD Clone - help & Advice needed.

    Hi Guys,
I could really appreciate some help and advice on this subject as I'm fairly new to the dream box clone scene and am struggling to fix this problem.

I received a DM800se HD CLONE today that was running SunRay4 Sim2, I proceeded to update the box to use the NewNigma2 V4.0.1 image that i have running on another box.

This initially appeared to work as you'd expect, the image updated and the box rebooted. upon reboot the newnigma2 image prompted me that an update was available and should i download it. figuring that this would be a good time to update, however at the end of the update the box had appeared to have frozen (the software confirmed the image was updated) so i switched the box off and back on.

Since then the box won't boot properly, i have attempted to re flash the box a few times by holding the power button in when switching on and using the flash website and also using sunray dream up to flash an image.

non of these manage to complete (dream up says the image is wrong) and the website normally doesn't get chance to finish before the small oled screen goes off (black) and the box stops responding.

when the box freezes the green light inside stays on but the 5 red led's all light up and go dim red.

i've emailed the company i bought the box from incase its actually a faulty box, but i'd also love some help and suggestions on whats going on.

the flash recovery website says the boot loader is version 84 if this helps.

    Hello

Probably, your box is flashed with a wrong image.

Either the image that you have used for flashing it's not a sim2 image for DM800se or the box made the update downloding an original image (NewNigma2).

You can try to reflash your box with another sim2 image for DM800se by using the SunRay- FlashUp , a USB-A to mini USB-B cable and the Network cable.

-First, connect the usb in order to install the driver and you will notice that windows created a virtual Com Port.
-Switch Receiver off and connect Network.
-Start SunRay FlashUp, tick use network, fill the relevant boxes with local pc IP and remote ip of your choise and click "connect".
-program will ask for you to switch on the box.
-it will then go into HTTP mode.
-open your browser and insert the IP.
    -chose the option update firmware.
    -select where is the image.
    -click Flash
-when it finishes you can click reboot

If you still have problem you may need a special tool for repairing the sim.

Yes, you are right my friend

Maybe the bootloader of the image that he has flashed his box is wrong.

In this case dea @kristiaan_d you have to update the bootloader and then to flash a newer image.

Put your box into flash mode and upgrade the bootloader via webinterface and don`t reboot.
Open a new browser window and access again webinterface, flash the image then reboot your box.

              Dear kristiaan_d

You can try to reflash your box with an image with the same bootloader that you have now.
Search for openpli or nemesis clone images for sim 2.1 with bootloader 84 (I think it's the latest).

              @ervini
this video can't help him because it shows how to format a usb/hdd and he wants something else.
