    Power off 500s clone

    Hi friends, I've a blackbox 500s (enigma 1) with Nemesis 4.4.

How can I turn off the box? In power off menu this is only the choice for put it in standby but I would turn off it definitively. Usually I take off the socket, but I know is dangerous for the decoder.

    Thank you

    Hello

If you hit once the power button you will put the box in standby mode.
You can leave it in this mode for as long as you like.

To turn off completely your dreambox you have to pull of the power cable from the back of the box when it's on standby.

Thank you for the answer. But are you sure that it isn't dangerous for the dreambox?

        No it's not dangerous.
Even if you issue the command "poweroff" from telnet you will see that receiver reboots itself after a few seconds.
Embedded systems don't need to flush their file systems before poweroff so, if you need to poweroff, just unplug power cable (the same way you do with your router, for example)

I know that enigma 2 can go into deep sleep mode. Enigma 1 can't?

          Thank you

AFAIK, no deep standby powerstate for E1

Then there are two ways: standby or unplug the socket?

              Thank you

Enigma1 and enigma2 are not the same.

Don't worry about the pulling of the power cable.
It's safe and it's the only way to power off the dreambox.

When you are not watching tv you have to put the box in standby mode and only when you are going to leave your house for many days you have to unplug the power cable.
