    Re: Plugins on USB

    Hello

I'm not very sure if this can be done on openpli images.

I found a video that describe the all procedure of changing some paths but I don't now if this can be done to an openpli image.

I know for sure that the Black hole image gives you the ability to transfer the "avalon" (like the user in the windows) into the usb.
In this way, every time you will install a plugin , addon, picons, settings etc it will be saved into the usb stick.

Have you tried searching the Openpli forum, you might have better luck there

          Re: Plugins on USB

I don't know if you have found an answer to your question!!!
But if you have a look at this page, it tells to you how to install the image on USB, hence more room on your unit (which I think is the main reason, behind your question)
Anyway I am sure others might find it useful

              Re: Plugins on USB

I guess we need something similar to APP2SD, which is used on android phones for installing apps on the sd card rather than the phone.

I guess that is a major recoding the plugin, as you need to change the installation directory and change the codes to read from the new location. I am going to spend some time on making plugins during holiday, I might look into this.
You can take any plugins (ipk file) extract it by using 7zip and look inside and try to figure out how it has been put together.

              Best of luck

Just use a symlink to redirect your plugins directory path to your mounted usb path.
There's no reason why it shouldn't work because symlinks are transparent to application level.

Of course you can , my friend

Follow gianni253's advice to redirect the plugins with a symlink and the correct path to your HDD.

actually i have no idea what symlink is and how it works
