    Re: Dm 800 se or sunray ?

    Accepting that we talk about clones, they are the same receiver with other label.

    Dm800se is a clone of the same model produced by DMM.
    Sunray, is a company in China manufacturing clones with the label dreambox or sunray.

    Ferrari and sim 2.01 are 2 diferent card sims that can be used on these clones.

    They use different way to imitate the original sim of a dreambox which is needed for the operation of the receiver.

    The result is the same, but there are many people that are more satisfied with sim 2.01 because there are better support.

        Dmm = Dream Multimedia

        Support for sim 2.01 you can find in almost all forums.
        If you try a search on the net, you will find that every forum contains some patched images for ferrari , sim 2.01 etc.

        Pay attention on what is your sim and also on what is your bootloader (eg #84).
        You can't flash your box with an image that is for a different sim than yours or even a different bootloader.

        Be careful, because sometimes fixing the receiver from a bad loaded image , may be too difficult and will get you into trouble.

        If I were you, I would start the reading first in order to increase my knowledge and then try to play with sims , bootloaders and images.

          I have used DM800 sunray sim 2.01 and have not had any problem with it. The best image i have used till now is the new openpli 3.0, which is working perfectly.

            I have to agree to kalpikos but other sim's are also well supported . I have got an other sim than 2.01 and I have to say that I also got many options and possibilities.

                Could you please explain me how this happens?

                If a thunder come to your home, I think that the last you want is to protect your receiver.

                Avoiding to use the cable of the home network is useless because the receiver use the power network of your home and I think that is more sensitive to electricity increase from a thunder.

                As about the sunray sr4, is a good quality dreambox clone with an addition tuner for terrestrial channels and the label "sunray" because the manufacturers have problem with naming in Europe.
