Problem with HD Glass 16

I have heard for many people having problems with the HD-Glass skin on dreambox and vu+.
I also have problem with a vu+solo2 and black hole image as well as openpli.
Somewhere I read that this skin can overwrite some libraries of enigma2 and make also some changes that can influence the stability of the receiver.

What is the true about this skin?
Is there any team that can give officially support to this skin?

dear kalpikos i had this skin in the past and it caused me problems with openpli even startup failure on my receiver.

so my opinion is that what you mentioned probably it is true.

i had uninstalled this skin and no more interested for it since then

I can also confirm this skin is very "heavy" and system invasive.

Then for which system ? not for DM, not for Vu+

I think that this skin causes problems because of some features that has.
You can enable/disable many features in it and maybe this is the reason of instability.


You must know that OpenPli and BlackHole team absolutely disagree with using this skin.
Sure they know something more about this.

My personal experience was a beautiful green screen, although the box allowed me the installation.
But when I tried to use it.... crashed.
Is there any user running this skin on his box?

I also Install few Times on my DM, but every time it leads me to re-flashing STB

Let it alone mate ... I even tried a manual install to log and trace all install process but it was a big mess.
I don't remember if had to reflash or was successful with a manual uninstall, but surely I gave up with this skin

I will give a last try with vti image.
I think that with this image the HD Glass 16 skin works ok.

Well,

I have good news

I installed vti image on my vu+solo2 and the HDGlass 16 skin.

So far everything is ok

The skin works very good without any problem.
Also the settings of changing the appearance of the skin work perfect.

In conclusion, vti image is one of the images that support HDGlass 16 skin.

Soon, I will try vix and openatv image to see if these teams support this skin.

I really don't care about the free space of my receiver as my solo2 has a large amount of free space and I have never faced a problem.

I remember my self when I was using a poor dm500s and trying to get rid of the unnecessary plugins or skins in order to earn a little more free space...
Now I have to try very hard to full my box...
