    Hi mate

You have to use the port 20 and 21 in order to work properly.
Also, you need dynacic DNS setup and forward these ports on your router to the dreambox IP address.
This is a security risk as an outside hacker can run a port scan and find open ports if you have default username and password on your dreambox its very easy to hack and steal your server lines.
Why you don't use teamviewer to make the necessary changes?

You'll never be able to connect remotely an ftp session, unless you put the receiver in DMZ, i.e. you expose all the ports to the public internet.
This is because ftp protocol requires a random port to be opened on receiver side.
If you still need remote ftp and want to keep your receiver safe at the same time, you can use a tunneled ssh session (dropbear on receiver side and an ssh tunneling client on pc side).

you must connect the DM500 to the internet, with all the risks that this entails, and you have to assign an ip stable to dm500!

The real issue is not to have a static ip address ... also dynamic is good, provided you use ddns (dynamic dns).
The real problem is to expose entirely the receiver to the public external network, that is not a wise thing to do ... any vulnerability could be exploited to get access to the box.
That's why an ssh connection would be required to prevent any risk.

hi there, thanks for your fast reply,

I already connected to dm500s after this i am trying to Load Channel list on his Box, by using DreamBoxEdit Program,
when click on “Reload settings on Dreambox” after this it shows an Error like :
“Sending reload command failed. See the log for more information”.

So i like to know, is there any other program i can use to upload channel list on remote dm500s.

            Thanks for your replies

Did you set up the right setting as we told you above?

Moreover, you have to open dreamboxedit and go to tools/options.
In profiles you must put the right IP , username and pass, and the ftp port (21).
In order to check if all is ok, you have to push the buttons in the right place and make a test IP connection.
I hope all to be ok.

The only way to upload a channel list to dreambox is via ftp and all settings programs/suites are based on ftp commands so, if your problem is ftp, it's no use to try alternative programs.
But did ftp transfer completed correctly ?
I ask because the reload commands are sent via a "telnet" session, so it's not an ftp session anymore.

Re: which PORT i have to use to connect to dm500s Remotely

hi guys, i established connection successfully in OPTIONS, at FTP Port :21 & at HTTP Port :21 (because if take 80 here then Username/Password TEST fail), FTP Type : Passive, Enigma1,
when i did all TEST IP , Username, Password, all success, based on this settings.

To Load Chnl list : I press on FTP icon, Send File to Dreambox button -- goes straight successfully.
when i press on "Reload settings on dreambox button" -- i wait over 5 minutes, mouse keep on rolling, finally says the error in prevoius post.

So partly success in sending Chnl list here, i am having trouble in "Reload settings on dreambox button"

or i like to know, how to send "Reload settings on dreambox" by using Telnet command.

                  Thanks

i am not familiar with ftp out of the house but it sounds that you do a good job
but have you tried to reboot dreambox instead of Reload settings on dreambox

For enigma1, from a local telnet session:
                      Code:
                      wget -q -O /dev/null http://root:dreambox@127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/reloadSettings && wget -q -O /dev/null http://root:dreambox@127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/reloadUserBouquets
... where "dreambox" is the password for user "root".

Just a curiosity: did you put the remote receiver in DMZ ?

I have the same opinion as vimmers.
Don't press the button "Reload settings on dreambox" but manual restart the box.

However, you must know that if you hit the button, you must wait for a long time without do anything in dreambox or dreamboxedit because it will stuck.

It's happened to me to wait more than 5 minutes in order to take the message that the procedure is completed.

i was looking in DreamBoxEdit tool where i can go to enter this command, as you told me TELNET Session, so i don't find TELNET Command screen to enter this command in DreamBoxEdit tool. So do i have to use any other tool to enter this command.

                          wget -q -O /dev/null http://root:dreambox@127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/reloadSettings && wget -q -O /dev/null http://root:dreambox@127.0.0.1/cgi-b...adUserBouquets

you issue the telnet command from your pc:
                            Code:
                            >telnet myremotehost.com
You will be asked for userid and password ... login and then issue the command to reload services and bouquets.
Remember that port 23 must be opened on remote host.
