Don't worry mate, you flashed an image with different ssl than yours.
Just reflash via serial port and webinterface/dreamup the "right" image for your ssl (84) and your box will come back to life.

      hi gbadger

fyi: for reflashing via the serial port, you need a serial RS232 nullmodemcable (crossed). I possible, don't use a usb-rs232 adapter at your pc end (some adapters give problems and won't work)

If your pc hasnt got a serial port you can use a rs232 to usb adapter. I have bought one, it is cheap just for 3 € and you can flash everything without problems. Try it.

            hi guys

ok, ok - you're right. I said to avoid using an adapter, because I've seen some which didn't work - if your pc/laptop doesn't have a serial port, you don't have a choice. I still have an old laptop with serial port, and an even older desktop with win98 and serial port - very rare, but still used once in a few years to try to recover something ...

but going way out off topic here

I've heard in that case it's better to use a win-xp system.
Other systems (win7...) seems to make problems with usb-to-comport. I'm using xp and my serial works very good and stable.

I wouldn't say so off topic; our friend will definitely need a com port because "no ca found" error makes network unusable.
Problem of serial-usb adapter is quite annoying and sometimes it can be solved only with a driver replacement (a research on the chipset used by adapter may help to find the right device driver).

i use win 7 and never got any problems
just update the driver to usb/to comport if you got problems
and this works in both my dm 800 and dm 7000
but as i told use webinterface if you don't have a serial port or a usb adapter

Webinterface is unusable if network is down.
In case of "no ca" error, com port is the only way out.

                      Hello gbadger

The new clones of dm800se are without this mini USB port.
They have a black button on the back.
In this case, connect the network cable, press and hold the Mini Flashup button, power on your box, then it will go into the page of flashing.

                        Agreed
You need indeed some software like :
                        • Sunray-Flashup for 800hdse
                        • AllRussian_20110201
                        • SSL82(or 84) for DM800SE

I had those CA error at the beginning. If you have some problem ,tell me and I will help you !
