Empty tuners on DM800se clone

Hello all,
I have a DM800se clone and it started out with a image in russian. Anyhow, after doing all of my setup in english and do good tp scans for all three of my lnb's. All was working well up to this point.
Later I went into software management and started a software update that ran good for awhile and then stopped with an error that I was not able to catch fast enough to see what it said.
Since then, I cant do anything under [service searching] because at [tuner configuration] shows both tuner A and B (empty). It will not let me do anything from that point on.
I can still navigate all over with the remote and telnet in with DCC_E2.

Please help with any guidance and suggestion. Im new with this box and will need some full instructions.

Hi mate

Probably something went wrong at the software update and your box is stuck.
Try to reset to factory settings if it's possible.
If nothing happened, then you have to flash your box with the appropriate image (sim,bootloader).

Thanks Kalpikos, I was affraid to go back to factory default because Im really not all that good with this box but Im also sure I can get added help from other users like yourself if needed. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

I did a factory reset and everything came back the same. Only needed to add the basic setting (language, timezone...) but the network settings already remained there.
It looks like Im gonna have to flash an image.

Flashing an image will be better option in this case and sometime factory resets don't erase the whole data and some of the settings are left behind. Flashing an image will rewrite all the settings.

It's very likely that your interrupted update has corrupted tuner's drivers ... that's why they show empty (they are not listed by the system).
A manual install of drivers should solve your problem but I guess it would be easier for you to reflash the box.
Just remember to look for an image that contains the same second stage loader of your sim !!!

These are some of the things I dont know about. What is the second stage loader and how do i find this information from the box that I have as well as find the same on a new image to flash?

To check ssl installed in your box ...
from a telnet prompt:

# opkg list | grep secondstage

To find the right image ...
Usually images that contains a ssl have a self speaking file name.

ok, I did that and it showed me:
secondstage - 80-r1

Ive never seen any images with a ssl like that. Am I looking at the wrong thing here?

Every image i have tried to flash using sunray flashup, gives me a flash failed after loading.
010 Invalid Image (or old version).

Using Dreamup v1339 only waits for an acknowlegment from the box and goes no further. So, I know Im doing right by using Flashup.
The box remains the same with me being able to navigate with the remote and also telnet into it with dcc_e2. Both tuners A and B still say they are empty.

Use webinterface to flash ... there are many guides about this matter.
If you don't find an image that include your ssl, look for the only ssl and flash it right after you flashed the image (do not reboot between the the two flashes !!)

It's not a hardware problem? For example damaged a capacitor.
I think the tuner can not be destroyed by a software update.

Re flash should solve your problem , Don't try to experiments other thing , if you are not good at it

OK, China provided me with the previous image which is ssl82 and I was able to flash it thru my browser. Im at the point where I can setup my lnb's and birds on the tuner now.
My question now is, can I flash a ssl84 image of my choice now? Because this one is Allrussian image.

Yes, you can, but straight after the first flash you must flash your current ssl, without reboot in between.
Of course, you must look for a .nfi file containing only your current ssl for this second flash.

The current image i have in there now is ssl82
So, let me get this right. I have to flash this current ssl82 image again, and without reboot, flash only another ssl82 image. Is that correct?
Or can I flash a ssl84 image as the second one?

If your ssl is 82 you can't flash images with different loader !
So, get stuck with ssl82 images (look for clone images for dm800se, there are hundreds around ...)
By the way, it will be hard to find an image with emu preinstalled, you will have to install it after flash.
