That was where dmm went wrong. They came out with groundbreaking products, albeit at a hefty premium and rested on their laurels.
Companies like vu+ and gigablue came along offering similar, or better products at a fraction of the cost.

It is not the competition that did it ..
Cloning (pirated versions) had their impact on them...
When we buy clones.. we leave originals on the shelfs ... and the company has no income to go on ..and to give us cheaper and better products
      simple as that..

And why is there such a huge clone market for dreambox? Because of their over pricing.
When the clones of vu+ surfaced how did they respond? They cut their prices!
So it is not competition or clones but a mixture of the 2.
I only buy original receivers and faced with the choice of a dm 800 for £450 or a duo2 for £450, I know where my money would go.

in my opinion, for example, dreambox 500s and its clone blackbox are the same.
          the price gap is unexplainable.
dreambox have to cut the price.

I've searched a bit. At the moment no "insolvenz" (bankruptcy) known.

            But that's at the moment...

keep it to the topic of bankruptcy, this isn't a thread to talk about dreambox clones, thank you
