There will be a demand for clone dreambox for many years to come which the cloners will keep supplying, and maybe even modifying as we have seen already with clones getting extra tuners, etc.
Besides that they don't only clone dreamboxes, but many other sat receivers and gadgets as well.

Sad news because they were the leading satbox name for the hobbyist. Unfortunately they priced themselves out of the market and the cloners took over. Its a good job Vu+ are around for people looking for quality equipment at affordable prices.

Is not Dream Multimedia a German company so how can it file for bankruptcy under
'chapter 11' which is for USA,more likely a subsidiary or someone using similar name.
The German site shows nothing new.

I can not see any of the companies who make clones go bankrupt, they will just find another box to clone if they wish to stay in business. They also have a set-up where they can just keep on producing the ones that are still making them money.

When such a big company declares bankruptcy is very very bad news.
Because people lose their jobs, their associates would have problems
in the near future and for the one above that referred to the clone manufacturers,
in short time they won't have anything to manufacture and they will close as well.
I would like to believe that this is only a rumour,
but usually where there is smoke there is fire.
Only time will tell if this true or not.

It is known here in germany that Dream Multimedia had massive problems in the last month.
Many other good boxes are on the market, clones and at least the high price!
I asked for it a few weeks ago and noone here recommended a dreambox for ~400 Euros to me. So it's only a question of time untill they go down.

400+ Euros is a lot of money for a box
In many countries this amount of money is a month's salary for an employee.
so, it's very normal that nobody suggested that you buy an original dreambox.
A clone costs half price than an original but also has many quallity problems.
DDM from the begining, used to overprice their products but until 2007 made crazy sales because they had the only linux based receiver.
From 2008-9 and then, when the clones from taiwan and China came in very low prices, dmm lost the game.

I suppose that the standard quality of new clones, invited people to buy clone, so they must do this end....
