DM 800se - worth the money?

I plan to buy a dm800se. Actual price here ~390 euros.

Only a simple question to other owners of this receiver:

That's not very cheap, so in your opinion is it worth the money?

I'd say definitely not. At that price you could get so many other receivers with better specs and similar support. Vu+ solo2, vu+ ultimo, Gigablue quad, tm-twin............

I consider the original DreamBox outdated. Receivers with similar characteristics have a price equal to one half. I can recommend the "Venton hd1plus € 190".
If you want to make an investment and buy the top, I suggest, in this order:
1 - Gigablue quad € 300 (because it has three tuners and it can mount up to 4)
      2 - vu + SOLO2 € 320
      3 - vu + ultimo
      4 - xtrend et9500

I agree with all mates here ... not worth !
There are so many alternatives of superior (and cheaper) receivers.

maybe a dm800 clone for half of this price will worth the trouble.

            I agree with @kostis

            Dm800se original don't worth it's money.
Give the half of this price ( about 200 euro) and buy a clone.
I have read very good reviews for dm800se with a8p sim.
It's like an original dreambox and that's means that you can load any original image you want.
Of course it is a clone and don't have the quality of an original box but I think have many advantages.

              First: Thanks for your opinions.

390,00 seems to be to much money for me, so I asked here.
One question, where can I buy such a clone? I don't think amazon or ebay...
              Are there special sat-stores?

You can buy it in china in a famous web site. But I don't advise you to buy a clone becouse you don't have a good warranty. Look a gigablue 800 se, a xp1000, a venton hd1+.

however, if you can buy a clone, the best are branded sunray

You can buy clones cheap from china, but consider warranties, etc.
Should there be a problem with your receiver it could prove very problematic getting the supplier to help resolve the issue.
If you do manage to get them to cooperate you then have to pay for the return shipping to the supplier, which I know costs around £60 as I looked into it when my vu+ duo clone went pop.
In China they are not bound by the same laws that we are regarding warranties, etc, so it is often very difficult to get any help at all.
My advice is to stay away from cheap clones as there are original receievers which do the same thing for the same price, or less.
                  But that's just my opinion.

                    hi Satphoenix

As you probably know we've had some discussions about original <-> clone, see eg:http://www.satlover.eu/forum/satelli...-vs-clone.html.
Choice is up to you, but a clone is a higher risk in case of something goes wrong, also important to me is warranty/service/support and the reviews of others.
