i like to ask if its safe to update my image from the internet via the receiver. will i loose any data (clines etc)?

if it's flashing updated image, don't think so (for example open pli 1.0 to 2.0)
If it's a update from plugins, cams, drivers,etc, then everthing that's installed will stay on your box.
Best is always to have backup of your settings, cams and plugins so that you can put those back after image flash. -

It is a good habit to get into that you backup every time you want carry out a update of
any kind no matter how minor a update you never know when something will go wrong.

on my dm7000 its says open pli and then the date 08022013, 09022013 etc. unfortunate i cannot backup my setting because the box its lock and i couldn't bypass the password. (i try the guide here to unlock it but couldn't to it). so better not to update yet.if it's flashing updated image, don't think so (for example open pli 1.0 to 2.0)
