How to get maximum channels?

Hi mates!

I just learned that I can look at for example "http://en.kingofsat.net"

And see what Frequency Standard Modulation SR FEC and so on the channels have, then I can add them MANUALY in my dreambox.

But, how do I know what channels my dreambox should be able to recieve?

I mean I would not know about the MMX channels for example if my Skybox hadīnt picked em up!

My dish is connected with thor (0.8w) and Astra/Sirius (4.8e) When I look at for example lyngsat.com for what channels that are available for 0.8w and 4.8e I donīt find the MMX channels.

So how do I know exactly what channels I can try to look for manually?

Hi Didde3000,
I believe that for to know how many channels you could sintonize on your tuner sat, you should be get documentation about your tuner DVB-s.
I mean, you should know wich is the maximum and minimum Symbol Rate reconnaised from your tuner.
After this you could check on King of sat wich channels fit on your sat list.

If you have DVB-S2 box, then there will be max channels for you except some Multi-stream channels.

download an up to date satellites.xml for your 2 satellites. Ftp it into var/etc reboot your box and then scan the two satellites. It should then pick up everything that you are able to pick up with your dishes. It all depends on the signal strength you are receiving. If some transponders have weak strength then you may not pick up what is on them

Both. if you ****** it you will find a satellite xml generator which will put on whatever satellites you want into your satellite.xml file

Wich dreambox ? (E1 or E2) ?

If you have a Enigma1 box, go here:

go to the last page and download the latest E1 Vhannibal motor settings.

If you have a Enigma2 box, go here:

go to the last page and download the latest E2 Vhannibal motor settings.

Then, Use DreamboxEdit to upload the ready list to your box.
You can find here:

With DreamboxEdit you can delete all satellites and leave only thor (0.8w) and Astra/Sirius (4.8e).
Also you can edit the bouquets and your favorite channels.

I am using enigma2, so I go to "http://www.satlover.eu/forum/dreambox-settings/9233-latest-vhannibal-settings-e2.html" and download your "Vhannibal E2 Motor 03 feb.rar" I unrar the satelites.xml and put it in /var/etc.. then I reboot my DM500 and search for channels. But still the same old channels apear.. When I did a manual search. I could find for example MMX stars1,2. premiere 1,2, family, festival, and speed.

But I canīt find em in HD (but my Skkybox finds them in HD) the skybox also finds some other good channels such as fox sports, (sd and hd) and some premiere league channels and alot of other "crappy" channels=)

What am I doing wrong?? Please help=)

I didn't say something about satelites.xml
Read my post above.
Use dreamboxedit to edit the settings and then upload them to your box (all files not only satelites.xml in /var/etc).
