    dm7000 freeze and bkick.

dm7000 freeze and then block (i coulndt fix the title)
I got a big problem today on my DM7000 i try to change a channel and i saw a small delay for the receiver to respond, after i try that again and the DM freeze and i got no respond i press some other keys but got no respond and after 30-40" the DM responded. those problems continue so i restart the box but it still got the problem. i have open pli image working great for the last 2 months and it looks that its a hardware problem. Also the box is locked with password.

Try user = root and password= dreambox
With the hardware it could either be power supply problem or a heat problem if it is a
intermittent problem i.e it shows up after dm has been running a while it is heat problem.

the password has been change by the seller. do you mean power supply inside the box? but the image infrond of the box its good all the time. i turn the box off to check it after 1 hour and see if its a heat problem.

Do you have any Hdd or Flah drive connected with box ? If any then try to start without Hdd

yes i have an internal Hard disk but i will have to open the box to removed it so i try to avoid that solution for the time.

Yes power supply inside the box sometimes a fault in this can reduce power to
tuner and other components causing freeze.
If you really interested in changing password there is a tutorial showing how to
            just ******.

                Hi kostis

I think you have a heat problem.
Power supply + Hard disk can increase the temp of your box in a very high level.
I suggest you to remove your disk and test it, or to fit a fan over or inside your box.

problem solve and i think you are right, i turn off the machine during the night and the next day was working again. sometimes i hear a sound of the hard disk and it looks like its doing something (when it shouldn't). i didn't remove it for now but if it happens again it will be my next step.

If you store picons, epg, etc on a usb flash drive this could reduce the time that the hdd is running.
Also helps if you go into settings and set the hard drive to stop running after a couple of minutes inactivity.
Best hdd to use for a stb is a 2.5" 5400 rpm as this produces less heat
