    dead dm 800pro

    could anybody guide me where to take my dm 800hdpro for repair in pakistan..i have already tried rawalpindi and lahore but to no avial

      it was behaving oddly since one month then with a loud noise it went dead
      doesn't boot ...no lights on lcd.....but lights are blinking at the LAN connector
      does not let me upgrage the software via dream or any other software even with rs 323 cable

        First check your psu: connect it to a 12 ohm - 10W resistor (to load it with 1A) and read the voltage that should be around 12Vcc.
        You could also use an auto lamp (12v) as load, but check well the power.

        If psu is ok, the noise you reported makes me think to a component that is exploded or similar so, if you open the box, at a close inspection you should see the component that is broken (maybe a capacitor ?) and you can try to replace it by yourself.

          IT should be repaired by any expert, otherwise you damage other components

            Hi, There is a dedicated Pakistani forum on the web about the satellites, CS and other issues. Have a look or PM the ADMIN. They might be able to help with the repair. You need to register yourself first. Registration is free.

                Sometimes you can save your self a lot of money by just unscrewing a few
                screws and taking a look 7 times of 10 when I have done this with other
                electronic equipment it has been as simple as a blown fuse the cost a
                few pennies.
