Can someone please explain and suggest the difference between 800hd and the same clone. and should i buy the clone or a Black panther...unfortunately i cant afford original DB

With a clone you can only used modified images and it can also happen that new drivers will not be working

Clones are cheaper than the origionals. Their chip id is usually different and they need some tweaking to enable them to have an origional firmware. They usually don't come with aproper support like the origionals and most of them are shipped from China.

dont know what a black panther is but a dreambox 800hd clone does what it should, you get to watch tv+ magic and it costs loads less than an original.

Usually clones come cheaper than the origional. They also have different firmwares than the origionals. You will need to be very careful to upload a new firmware because they can brick the box. Make sure that the firmware as suitable for the clones. Once the box is bricked, you dont get much support from the supplier as in many cases you don't know who the suppliers are or you will have to send the box to China on your own expenses. Then wait about 3 months to receive a replacement or repaired box.

if u buy original dm you will have warranty,if you buy clone not.clones support is werry good as well as originals

Some people are reporting that clones have PSU problems. They dont drive the dish properly, like go smoothly from east to west but struggle from west to west or the other way around. People with the same problems are buying PSU seperately.

I would suggest you the original one.
Clones have got a cheaper hardware that means that it isn't as good as the original one.
The clones have got also an other firmware thant the clone one.
So in my opinion a original is better .

if you are putting any other images on clones than the original DMM, then you are definitely on your own any how.
One thing about buying a DMM you can always revert to the EU/German consumer protection laws...much easier with an established German company than Hang's satellites somewhere on fleabay - assuming he doesn't packed up and go in the process

Dm are pricing themselves out the market which is why the clones have been so popular. Rather than get a clone dreambox, why not get an original gigablue or vu+. More or less the same price, but original and very well supported.

The clone is possibly been made by recycling components from machines that failed the QC initial tests or, if it is a complete replica from the same factory it has possibly gone out the back door.

It all depends how lucky you are. Its like a big gamble. Some people buy them and don't have problems with them at all.
Some people buy them and the problem starts from the 1st day. Call the seller and they totally ignore the calls.

on some sites you may find clones with warranty (1 year) also but you want find the support you get with the original one.

Just to update this thread about the Clone DM800's and SE's, there is now an original SIM card for the clones which will let you run Original image firmware as DMM upped the OE kernel a few weeks back in one last final ditch attempt at finishing off all the clones.

Guess what it didn't work and so came the release of the new simcard.
