strange problem with dm500s

works fine in my house with a motor dish even though it is setup for 1 sat only (28.2e) with c line. take it to my mates house & can only get free to air, no encrypted channels. any ideas?

at your mate: did you get any connections with the server or not? Possible that between the 'moving' the cline wasn't good anymore, or did it work again back at your place? Indeed, very strange ... - I know with a setup which isn't optimal, possibly weak encrypted channels can come through as scrambled, but it's not normal that nothing's clearing.

na tried c line again at home with my box and clearing fine. never come across this before apart from when an lnb on the dish was faulty

were you able io get an internet connection at your mates. i know this sounds obviouse but strange things happen.

Yeh I know what ya mean. I was able ti connect to the box in dcc but think I couldnt download latest menu. Gonna tey connecting to dhcp instead of network n see what happens today

managed to get the cline working with alittle playing around but now can't update the satellite xml file. when i try to ftp it over it doesn't work. had this before & had to change the image. the xml file is set to 664 as well so dunno why it doesn't work. to be fair with the image on the box it looks like it is in the wrong folder. tried ftp to right folder but still wouldn't work. never mind, most of the channels are working so ok for now i guess

that's cos you have turned dhcp on so the box have another ip now
so turn it of and give it an ip your dcc usually use or do a search under the dreambox picture in dcc

mm never thought of that vimmers. nice 1 mate, wait a minute don't think it can be that mate as i re entered the ip address & connected through dcc but it won't ftp the xml file. it is as if the file on the box is read only when it is not

your box is full,try first to delete xml file and then upload new xml

first of all if you find that a post has help you there is a rule on how to say it on this forum. you should use the button that is under every post. if you dont you will get ban so edit you post and read the rules. the winscp is a free prog that allows you to enter you box settings, WinSCP is a SFTP client and FTP client for Windows and it was very easy for me to use.

As gauloises1 already wrote, you probably have your var full.
From command line, telnet to your box:

telnet ***.***.***.***

where ***.***.***.*** is the ip of your box and, after login, issue the command:

df -h

and report here.
