clone DM8000 SIM Ferrari-record to USB device

Hello

Fw is newenigma 3.2.2, recordings are made onto 1 TB internal hdd. This arrangement enables only copy/transfer of files to a USB stick or viceversa (USB hdds are not accepted, I guess owing to limits of the power supply).
If so, I guess that direct recording to USB hdds can be achieved only if the internal one is disconnected.
On the other hand, direct recording to USB sticks seems impossible, as none of the available recording paths can be modified w/respect to the preset one hdd/movie -as far as I know-. Any suggestion? (Please disregard use of FTP/telnet or virtual hdd, as I dislike such options).

One more question: in case the internal hdd is disconnected, can two different USB portable hdds be accepted (one for direct recording, both for mutual copy/transfer)?

as far i know you can only use 1 hdd at time to record on
and also as far i know the boxes have a limit under 500gb
but i think you can use a second to store music and movie files and watch them trough your box
