    Re: Signal problem

#microchick. It should be 75ohm. Why?
    using this one _https://www.elfa.se/elfa3~eu_en/elfa/init.do?item=55-911-69&toc=23709

#toby69. Dont know if its exactly the same f-contact as on cable nr1. But it is f-contact the bigger modell for 1mm cable.
And you mean that the copper wire have to stick out a bit in front of the f-contact right? It does, 5-10 mm I think

#microchick. Ok but in one end of the cable nr1 the f-contact is fixed in the cable.. Maybe I have to buy a cable with fixed f-contacts?

      Re: Signal problem

Take the f connector off the cable, strip the cable back another 10 mm and give it a try
      Good call toby.

        Re: Signal problem

When connecting the F-Connectors, make sure you fold back the braids. Otherwise it makes contact with the inner side copper conductor.

WF100 cable is the best for cable runs under about 30 metres. It is 75 Ohm.

okey but I guess that the cable I linked above should be good enough for signal cable?

50 and 75 Ohm values refer to the impedance of the coaxial cable. Impedance is a measure of resistance, in the cable, to the flow of electrical energy. There really is no “good” or “bad” impedance, just the right impedance for your application. For 75 Ohm cable, the primary application is the transmission of a video signal. In the case of 50 Ohm cable, it is a data signal that is for the most part being transmitted. Simply put, 75 Ohm is for pictures and 50 Ohm is for information. Hope this help.

                    Re: Signal problem

                    ok yes I understand!
On the nr1 cable that works, the text is RG6 coaxial cable 75ohm. And on the new bought cable the text is Telass KTV 1,1/4,9 CV 2010.
But I guess the cables should be the same..?

i should think that as long as its satellite cable, should be ok.
                      good luck jonnh anyway.

                        Re: Signal problem

You will see a drop in the signal quality when the cable is longer than 20m. Thats the reason trhe installers suggest to keep the cable's length as short as you can.

                          Re: Signal problem

It seems to work with the spiderbox so maybe dont need signal for dreambox will check tomorrow. (tested 2 satellites)
But when I try these two satellites with cable nr1 on dreambox they are now black?! They worked before and its not the same LNB as cable nr2 use. Very strange..
Is there some kind of signal crash or what the f is happening

Do you think you could have a faulty tuner on the dreambox?
from what I understand you were getting signal on cable number 1 before, but not number 2. Now nothing on both?

                              jonnh,
have you a friend with a satellite set-up, and check both your dreams on his kit,
perhaps that would narrow the problem down a bit, then somethink amiss on your own set-up,

have you tried the same setup on both receivers
it can be that you try to get a satellite and receiver can see it
                                but it aren't in satellites.xml
and there are better cables 98 110 120 db
