This usually the problem, but not as you suggest. In most cases you need to move the speed Up.

I have recently (Win7) had to use TM Control Centre , which by default uses 9600. Changing to 115...... and it worked fine.

        Hello

I agree with C_S_B ; in my case I also had to move the speed up to 115200. Don't know you box, but in the manual of mine, this speed was clearly specified in the technical specifications -> please check your manual, perhaps it's mentioned and you'll be lucky.

i you already move the speed up and down and it still not work, it is possible that the com port does not work properly(if the proble is not the Software it could be the hardware) and you muss look another solution for your box.
Maybe you can use a USB to RS232 adaptor on your computer.

            hi

possible, but informed here and there and in some cases the usb tot RS232 works, but mostly it doesn't work. If your computer has a RS232 port, I still think this is better ; have you checked if your com1-port is working correctly?? If not, you can still try with the adapter ; also possible that you're not using a nullmodem cable (crossed) but a straight one.

              I have different question
Is it possible to make faster upload throw rs232 in to the dm800hd box?
In this moment i flash my box with 11kb/s , and it`s showing 75min for upload - very very very long. So can anyone can help me? What can be a problem? Is it normal or something is gone with the wind

                hi

indeed, 11kb/s is very slow ; most likely RS232 will be faster ; check the (max) serial speed on you box and set same configuration in your pc (in my case this is 115200 bits per second, but as said is depending on your box). No possibilities ota or with usb?

So, i can play with the speed?
Because on my com port the speed is 9600, by default, so i don`t touch nothing till i don`t ask first
I can make faster transfer without any bad effects on my box, did i understand you right?

                      hi,

yes you can ; only thing that could happen is that if you enter a value too high, that there is no connection/transfert. Anyway, serial connection is always slow (as also stated by peremacedonia).
