Help with up DM500s motor settings

I have set up my DM500s to pick up a single satellite, which works fine.

When I try and configure DISEqC Rotor, I am unable to connect.

I have located my Longitude and Latitude from the web, however when I input these values in motor set-up nothing works.

My Longitude is -2.3684 AND Latitude is 51.3828

I key in the UsegotoXX function
    Longitude - 2.3684 West
    Latitude - 51.383 North

    and nothing works.

Re: Help with up DM500s motor settings

    Which image do you use?
Here's some good guide fro DK:

    Code:
    Select Setup

    Press MENU
    Choose SETTINGS
    Choose SERVICE SEARCHING
    Choose MOTOR SETUP

If there is a X in the GOTO XX box then remove this.

Now press BLUE button for the next screen.

On this screen you see four boxes.

Set the top box to DRIVE TO 0
Press GREEN - this will set the dish to the center position.
Wait until the dish has stopped moving.

Your dish is now centered (Zero degrees)

Set the top box to POSITION
Set the second box (Satellite) to THOR 0.8W
Set the third box (Transponder) to 11229V - this is a good transponder for Thor

Move to the fourth box (DIRECTION) and use the left and right arrows on the remote to move the dish east or west. It is best to quickly press and release the arrow button a few times so you do not go past Thor.

Watch the on screen signal levels closely. Thor will be slightly East (probably) of Zero position. When you find thor you will see a good signal strength (around 85%) in the top two signal bars, and a low reading in the bottom signal bar.

You should also get a X in the two boxes LOCK and SYNC - but due to a software bug you will probably not get those X to appear on Thor.

Now press GREEN to save the position. Press GREEN again (twice) to accept the position number you are offered.

If you already have channel lists loaded into the Dreambox, ignore the next step

If you now need to scan any channels press BLUE to scan. On the Next screen, choose the satellite name again (in this case Thor) then press GREEN to start the scan. The dreambox will now look for a valid transponder and you must press GREEN once more when prompted on screen to actually scan the satelllite. Once you have scanned you will be asked if you wish to scan any more satellites - choose NO to return to the motor setup screen

Now you will program the next satellite positions....

Set the top box to POSITION
Set the second box (Satellite) to ASTRA/SIRIUS 5E
Set the third box (Transponder) to 11766 - this is a good transponder for Sirius

Move to the fourth box (DIRECTION) and use the arrow on the remote to move the dish EAST.

Watch the on screen signal levels closely. When you find Sirius you will see a good signal strength (around 85%) in the top two signal bars, and a low reading in the bottom signal bar. You also get a X in the two boxes LOCK and SYNC. Once you find Sirius, tweak the dish slightly east or west to get the highest signal reading.

    Press GREEN to store
Press BLue to scan (if needed)

Now repeat the above procedure for the following satellites - each time moving further EAST until you get a signal and LOCK/SYNC boxes show an X

Store each satellite at the offered position number.

Each satellite is listed here with a good transponder frequency for you to choose in the third box.

    Thor 0.8W 11229 H 24500
    Astra/Sirius 5E 11766 H 27500
    Eutelsat W3A 7E 11175 V 27500 or 11492 V 30000
    Hotbird 13E use default transponder
    Eutelsat W2 16E 11092 V 32000 or 11449 H 27500
Astra 1 19E use default transponder
Astra 2 28E use default transponder

Now you have programmed all the Eastern Satellites we will do the Western ones

First return the dish back to the centre by choosing DRIVE TO 0 in the top box and pressing the Green button

Once the dish has centered, Select POSITION in the top box and repeat the above procedure for the Western satelllites - this time moving the dish WEST to locate each satellite

Here are the good transponder frequencies for the western satellites that we use.

    12.5W 11014 H 20150 or 12515 H 17455
    15W 11060 H 18386 or 11124 H 18386
    30W 12012 V 27500 or 12303 V 27500

Now you have programmed all the motor spoitions you can select channels from your channel list as normal. and the dish will move to the correct location automatically.
    Then Service Searching

    Select Satellite config

If you have Diseqc select the appropriate if not select your setup (mine is run through a 36v positioner so mine is non standard)

Select Auto transponder scan and select the satellite you wish to scan if you have a satellite on a positioner start on astra and scan then move onto hotbird etc, If you have no positioner and just a dish pointing at one satellite you need to scan for that.

You will see SNR and AGC when you get a Lock and Sync start scan, after a few moments the scan will be complete and you should now be able to view the free channels, if thats it ok if not repeat the above to scan other satellites.

Re: Help with up DM500s motor settings

Do you have first a switch to change the dish?
If yes you need first a diseq-signal
For example AA to your first dish
      and
AB for your dish with the rotor
