DM500S Green flashing light

My DM500 keeps crashing when I try and find a satellite to search. The green light on the front of the DM flashes on and off.

I turn the power off and switch back on.

The DM boots up and allows me into the menu screens.

Any ideas?

hi mate, i dont know if its a clone or not but u need to put a fresh new image , most of clone ones crush a lot. i suggest u go for a stable one like pli or open pli. dont use gemini 4.7 if its a clone one

It will be beter for you to flash your dreambox 500s with new firmware, pli or nabilo,are the best,you can find so many usefull tuto on this great forum

Sincerly i dont know about this imag(Black Hole images in DM500S )
i used first pli image was grat after i used nemesi image didt like it since short i use nabilo and i like it.

hmm heeh, It is Nabilo Black Hole. I think version 1.2 is the latest or am I wrong?
Nabilo 1.0 from two years ago is installed in my DM800 HD and haven't been complaining since then.
Tried once NewEnigma and it was not so stable, although m8s are suggesting I install new version and I'll be happy! So I'm at the crossroads now.

Every image I use loads successfully. I have tried quite a few now.

The box just crashes as soon as I try and scan a satellite.

have had this happen to myself, use dreamup, and reflash the box using null modem cable. NOT ethernet.

First things first, what have you done? Is the box a clone ? What image did you use ? (dont forget gemini can detect and kill clone 500's).
Do you have a back up of the files you need for server conection ?
Have you got a null modem serial cable ?
If you have the cable and have a back up of your files then conect the box to your pc and run dreamup .
Does dream up see the box (box is alive and talking to you)?

Use dreamup and a null cable. Turn the box off at the plug and then as your sending the firmware(or connecting to the box) turn the box back on at the plug.

reflash Your DM with DK (Digital Kaos) image and everything will be ok, U just need to reinstall cccam, keys and scce.

I think blackhole works only on dm800 upwards. Try Nabilosat Darkstar2 . Works fine on DM500 clone.
