Dreambox 500 clone or original

I am totally new to the dreambox world.

My DM 500-S box has arrived today from an ebay purchase.

I am struggling to tell whether it's a clone or original. One minute I think it's an original (MAC starts 00:09:34) and the next trying to pear through the inside of the box it looks like a clone.

It's black in colour and came in it's black original box.

Help?

Does it matter which image I load if I am not sure.

the box does have a hologramm sticker on the bottom of the box! does this mean it's an original?

Yes it does. Mine hangs on PLi images, but works fine on Nabilostat Darkstar2 and also others, but I prefer Darkstar2.

is it safe to load the Nabilostat Darkstar2 image if I am not sure if I have an original or clone box?

completed the flash, once connected to the tv screen flashes on and off with the name of the software. the remote won't me do do anything!

any ideals what i've done wrong?

When I bought mine on an auction site, I did not even know that you get clones.Found out the hard way when original image would not load.

not sure what I have done wrong, the words DARKSTAR 11 keep flashing on the tv screen.

Any ideas?

Sorry forgot:Make sure you have DarkstarII for DM500. You must use Dreamup. Connect Comm port, make sure network is not ticked, and only plug power in when Dreamup ask you do do so.

Just to clarify that Dream Multimedia have not manufactured the DM500s now for over 6 years, So if you purchase one from a supplier brand new it will be a Clone. Purchase one Secondhand and you could get an original

If it is not on this site under cccam section., try _www.nabilosat.info and look for Nabilosat-Darkstar2_Skin_Violet_CCcam 2.2.1_Mod_kaminero.rar under DM500 CCCam Providers.

I like PliJade 3 but it hung up my clone. Cannot get it to work.

My TV screen is flashing the welcome image, time to start a fresh

I have downloaded Dream up 1 3 3 2 and Nabilosat Darkstar 2 for DM500

I've connected my dm 500, started Dream up.......

Wish me luck

flashed the box successfully.

connected the box to the tv via scart lead and the image darkstar 11 is flashing on and off.

help?

Have you tried RGB?

Try setup also.
