Hi all can someone help me pls. I just. Bought a new
Dm 500 s and im new on this i never had dreambox before.
As its new it has nothing installed can someone give me a channel list and
What i need to start using it pls. Thanks in. advance for your help.

Hello jsn32
You need a program on your pc to communicate to the 500s. I use Dreamset, its in the dreambox tools section. Then download some settings and send to 500s.
This does assume you have an image installed, if not you must first install one and you will need another program on the pc, I use Dreamup. Also you will need a null modem cable to connect to the serial port of 500s.
Make sure everything is switched off before connecting to cables.

sorry i ask in old days i used flashwizard in my dm7000
its easier and faster then nullmodem

I think it needs nul modem, not exactly sure though, I have always done mine with Dreamup. My new dm800se is fine on lan except if it fails then even it needs its usb port.

Yes, he can use FlashWizard for loading images in his DM500s box.
I agree with you, ot is much faster and easier than the Nullmodem.

DM 500 Is SD only - you will not be able to get HD channels

you can use original image or you can flash another with more features - Incl add on which can support watching pay tv programs

You should search by ****** to a setting list in your language.
Then you have a setting list that you can sort at your opinion.
It's better to shoose a list who is for your language/country becaus you have less work to sort.
The other possibility is to make a channel search with your dream, read them out and make your own list.

I fully agree with jochen7575,
It is far better to make your own list.
No 2 satellites configurations are similar.
Channels that are easily seen in one location can be out of reach in othe locations.
Even if you download a ready made list, you still need to scan all the satellites.
You can use a program like DreamSet to make your own list in minutes.
This list can be saved on your computer for later use and to send it to any new image that you will use.

Make sure you sort by satellite beam available on satellite. Where I am at on some satellites there is only one channel on selected beam out of a possible 300 hundred on satellite. I use _http://satbeams.c**. There you can sort by language, or beam or whatever you want to.
