Problem with NULL MODEM

Hello , i heave a drembox 500s and today i go to change image,with null modem cable, but when i push ''conect,, the conect don't run .
before i heave change image with this cable but now doesn't work,and i dont know why
Please if someone can Help me.

also you have to take the power cable out for 10 seconds
then connect it again before dreamup response

You have chosen the correct COM port? I think COM 1, COM 2, etc.

In my early experience, i had problems during flashing images on decoder basically depending on 2 points.

The opeartive system and the cable.

I've been able to execute the flash only from PC with Win2000.
Also the flash procedure started only with a standard RS232 Null cable.
The adaptor USB/RS232 cable gived me problems, always.

The cable that you use is a real RS232 or is a dongle adaptor USB/Rs232?

THANK YOU for your posts and help Ok , the problem was ,because thw box wanted to do ON-OFF, and no Stand by.
But now i heave a another problem with DCC,because can't Connect with my dreambox, The mesagge is''Check Dreambox-IP,, When i go SetUp--Expert SetUP--Comunnication SetUp,The Dreambox IP is not change, but i d'know why don connect today, because all the other days before the connect was OK

uncheck the dhcp in your box so you always have the same ip on your box
its maybe changed now cos of dhcp
