thats the only different apart from the Sim.

With the exception of DM8000, all the original Dreamboxes are made in the Far-East (Korea or China) under quality control from Dreammultimedia.
The 8000 is made in a European country but the name escapes me now.iginal i

And I agree that an original is better (provided that you can afford the higher price).
Clones work nicely if you get a good one and know how to handle them.
But as mentioned by othe friends, you are limited to using patched images.

The Fan is not always noisey. The 800se that I have is almost silent.
An internal HD can easily be fitted.

If originals are made under licence in china, korea dosent that make them harder to tell apart as that is were the clones originate from..

          Re: Real or not?

Hi am not against clones, and I suppose a reputable seller would make it clear which it was.Two things i have found from these dissusions is that clones have cooling fans and both orignals and clones are made in the far east?and also some clones don,t like some of the software meant for originals..

Clones are cheaper and a lot of people are satisfied with them. The original can break down as clone ... It depends on the piece and also lucky.

So it would appear apart from a few software issues one is as good as the other ? apart from the price being a lot cheaper? Cheers...

that's not only a question of labour price..
the main difference is in the electronic components... not exactly the same brand, without the same Quality Control...
it may work for years without problem, or not...

personnaly I would prefer to wait a little bit more to spare money and buy a genuine one... but as we say in France : advisers are not the one who're paying...

You wont get much of a warranty with a clone. If it breaks within the first year or is 'dead-on-arrival', good luck sending it back to China

Shurely any warrantly lies with the Dealer? Like bm 300 pointed out above both originals and clones are now made in the far east.So both should be ok for at leat a year, unless your dealer is inChina..

For those who want to stick with original boxes, VU+ is a good alternative to Dreambox.
It is almost identical at a lower price.
Single and double tuner models are available.

I bought a clone and the seller assured me any problems within the first 12 months, I take it back as he has been around for more than 10 years...

They are made bu Vu+. They are enigma2 boxes so are as easy to update as any other enigma2 box, are well made, and very well supported by the likes of BlackHole and Vix teams.
