how to put clines on dm500

hi. with the help from here, i was able to revive my mate's dm500 and since i can't get hold of him, i was trying out the box. very complicated for me!
so far, i was able to scan one sat (box currently conected to a fixed dish) and watched fta channels. while browsing thru the forum, i found some programs to install clines but quite complicated for me.
is there a way to load clines with just the remote? i have difficulty connecting it to the pc.
    thanks.

    Hi my friend

in order to put a line into your box , you have to do that with a help from a pc.
There is no way to do it with the remote control.

You must connect your box with a pc, laptop...etc

use a ftp program like DCC

Open folders --var/etc / and edit the cccam.cfg
here you have to put the line.

    save and you are ok.

would it help if i was using linux (ubuntu)? i remember i have to input the pc's ip address and the dreambox's ip address.

hello i am using filezilla to connect and it is very simple

1.) download filezilla and install it
        2.) run filezilla
3.) go to transfer/transfer type and select binary
4.) set your host (your dreambox ip); username (root) the password (dreambox) and have fun

use the latest version of DCC and a pc with windows.

open dcc and put the IP of your pc and the Ip of your dreambox.
username and pass of your dreambox.

Make sure that you have the right settings in your box. (communication setup)

Dont use DHCP and give you an IP.
only the last number will be different from your pc IP.

          Netmask is 255.255.255.0
Nameserver and gateway is IP of your router

Re: how to put clines on dm500

i'm using the dcc ver 2.96. was able to connect the 3 parts together (pc, router, dreambox). had to play around with the ip addresses by trial and error.
will now play around with the cccam.cfg then try it later tonight when the kid is no longer playing xbox.
looks like i'll be ready for a linux box.

after putting 4 free clines, dm500 is definitely back!
i would like to thank all those who helped.
after several headaches of working out how to configure out this linux box, i'm definitely ready for a linux box.
