    Removed service

After some time after I added new satellites.xml on the dreambox some of satellite names are 'removed service'.
I searched on net about this and I saw something for adding satellite node without name from other satellite.xml file in current satellite.xml file from dreambox, but I compared old(original) satellite.xml file with current satellites.xml file from dreambox and noted that in old xml file has two satellites and in new xml file has one satellite.
    Code:
    old file:
    Eurobird2 (25.5E)
    Badr4/5/6 (26.0E)

    new file:
    Badr/Eurobird2 (26.0E)
I scanned Badr/Eurobird2 (26.0E) from Transponder Edit menu and I found it but 'removed service' still stayed under satellite name.

    How to resolve this?

I think the problem could be a change of name (26.0E).
Is my post useful for you? Please press sigpic

Try to manually rename the satellite as it was before you installed new satellite.xml. If the name matches you do not get any removed services any more.

Your new file has Badr/Eurobird2 as 1 satellite (they were 2 diffrent satellites in the old file).
When a satellite is no longer programmed in the list, you get this.
Simply highligt the inactive channel and push the dream button to delete the inactive channels.

          Did you mean Menu button?

I want to notice that I found another satellites.xml file in /var_init/etc/ and it is different from satellites.xml in /var/etc/ (inside it has more satellites, some satellites have less channels).

          Should I copy same satellites.xml in /var_init/etc/?

Yes Menu button (some remotes have it as Dream).

If you want a complete and up to date satellite.xml list,
download it from the following link:

And pass it to your box using FTP.

I downloaded satellites.xml from there but after some days in satellite list I saw 'removed service' and some of channels are gone.

I need to pass satellites.xml in both directories(var\etc and var_init\etc) or just in var\etc?

you don't say which dreambox you have and what image
                but as far i know
                satellites.xml only goes to (/var/etc/=enigma1) (/etc/tuxbox/=enigma2)

Following up on vimmers useful post,

If you get a lot of 'removed service', you need to reconfigure your satellite settings and rescan the satellite that is giving you the message.
Dont forget to the option after network search (so that you delete all the redundant channels).

                    @vimmers
                    I have Dreambox DM500S.
I don't know how to check which image is installed.(In var/tuxbox I found Gemini.config file and enigma folder.)
                    @BM300
I've got two removed service. After scanning I've got channels from one of both satellites, but after satellite name still I have 'removed service'. Second scanning(for the second satellite) was without success(still I have 'removed service' and no satellite).

I tried to upload same xml file from var/etc in var_init/etc but I didn't have permissions to change content of that folder and I couldn't change permissions to 777(with FireFTP).

looks like you have Gemini installed
                      since you have Gemini.config

Somewhere on the net I read that changing the settings could help to resolve 'Removed service'.
I found here Settings for enigma1 but what are settings, which are pros and cons of changing settings?
