dead deambox (500?)

hi. a few months back my mate had a dreambox which i think was a dm 500. after 1 year of owning it, his cs subbscription expired and coincidentally, his box died. when i connected it to my tv, there is no signal being picked up by my tv. dish isnt connected yet. what can i do to revive the box? he spent a lot having it all set up (box, moto, dish, installation) and now he can watch anything.

Check the power supply adaptor.
If it is giving out the correct voltage, check the box for any charred or bloted components

When you turn it ON do you see any menu from your box on yout TV ? If yes and your equipment is diferent you should try to configure your box ( like output setiings - RGB, HDMI etc, output resulution, LNB and satellite configuration, if you use a diseq switch - its configuration etc ). Your dish shoul be properly installed and fine tunned. Let us know how is going please.

that's the thing. i remember when i connect it to the tv and switch it on, the tv doesnt pick up any signal from the.box. its like notjing is connected to it. so i cant see any menu.

Does lights are ON on your box ? If yes - check box-tv connection cables and tv input settings.

if i remember it right, there is a light that went on on the box but once connected to the tv, nothing shows on the tv. just black screen. hopefully i can get hold of it tom night and have a better look.

are you sure you are selecting correct scart video input from your tv menu?

Do you have opportunity to test your box on another tv or change connecting cables ?

my mate noticed it just after his subscription ended. could be a faulty box actually. as i said earlier, will try to get hold of it and have another look. we only used scart last time. will report back this week if i can get hold of it.

patching it with a new image is also a choice, don`t forget that option , too!!

i still have to ****** the difference between a clone and the original one. haven't got it with me yet so can't update u guys yet.
