    USB Port in 500s

    Can a usb port be fitted to DM500S and where can I find tech data?
    DM500s on 68.5E, 10E Cband

    I think this is not possible.

    The only way to get any media connected to it is via the ethernet.
    eg, networked drive or even an ethernet adaptor to usb.

      ُEven if you mange to fit a USB port using the ethernet port, you will not find a driver in the 500s to communicate with USB.
      If you manage to solve this issue, then may be.

        there are standalone hdd boxes with ethernet input. if your aim is to record tv thows then you can use these hdd boxes. you dont need any computer to record tv shows on that hddbox. or you dont need to keep your computer open to record tv shows.

          One point to add to your great idea.
          An ethernet switch or hub will be needed to allow for server connection, since the port will be used by the HDD box.
          This will not be required for FTA channels.
