Recording on USB stick ?

I put 8 GB usb in my DM 800HD and it is dtected, but I am unable to define the way to record on it. Any help ?

hi,i think perhaps using usb recording stick not really worth it (but ok to experiment thou) as recording limited on a stick, 1 hours recording on a stick in sd uses 1.5gb, not bad but 1 hour in hd uses 4gb, best to get a harddrive stores more or get 58gb stick expensive thou.

You need to set the Recording Path to /media/usb. Where that's defined depends on your image, but for me its

Menu -> Setup -> System -> Recording Paths

you'll need to mount the USB Stick in bluepanel- device manager

and then change the recording path as mentioned by sonc.

if you already have a hard drive then I would use the hard drive to record and then transfer them to USB using any file manager.

I am using image gemini 5.01. I can't use internal hard drive, there is some heating issues.

im using internal hard drives on 2 of my dm800, no heating issues for me.

if i am right you can't use both a hdd and a usb stick
you have to decide which 1 you will use

You can use both but you have to change the recording path every time you want to switch.

There is heating issue in my country, here temp. almost 50 C in summer.

i think better use an external hard drive on e-sata 0r usb and no problem with heating
