Dreambox 7000 and MKV Movies

Is it possible to play MKV Files on my Dreambox 7000? I just tried several things but i can't play these files.

Impossible directly with the CPU you got on DM7000.

But you can try to stream it to the dbox with an uPNP/DLNA server, although I'm not sure there is a DLNA client working on Enigma1 devices...

I agree, but doing so : that won't be reading an .mkv anymore

i'm not sure but i think it reads .ts files not .mkv files the 800HD!!! as when i record with the 800HD the format of the recordings is .ts

just tested it with a small mkv file and yes dreambox 800hd can read it

Hi @ vimmers.
Bought me a DM 800 HD SE. It can play MKV Files but without sound.
I installed DreamDTS but still got no sound.
Do you know how to solve this?

i am not sure but have u tried to use the audio button on the remote

Yes, i tried to swap between german and english. But still no sound.
Other solutions?

what player do you use
i use the mediaplayer trough menu button

this is not working om Pli image, the rest should work
1. opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-genuinedreambox
2. reboot
3. check if genuine plugin is removed (blue button)
4. opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-genuinedreambox_experimental-git20101209-r0_dm800se.ipk
5. reboot
6. start the genuine plugin, wait till serial shows up, then exit the plugin menu.
7. opkg install --force-downgrade enigma2-plugin-extensions-audiosync_experimental-git20110116-r0_dm800se.ipk
8. opkg install gst-plugin-dvbmediasink_0.10+cvs20110116-r1_dm800se.ipk -force-downgrade
9. opkg install dreamdts_1.0-r4_mipsel.ipk
10. reboot

followed your steps and now my box play some mkv with sound and some mkv without sound. Hm, i don't know why that is but now i recode all of my mkv with AC3 sound and that should works. Keep tryin to solve this issue. Let you know when or if i solved this.
