Lookin for info on Picons - DM800HDse

To install Sky UK Picons from the addons on EDG Nemesis there are 3 variations cf, flash and usb. Can anybody tell me the diference or explain these? I have searched forn a basic difinative explaination of picons and I cant seem to find anything.

Are the very troublesome to install and why do people put them on a usb stick? Is it instead of a HDD? Is the flash version stored on the actual flash memory on the box?

The reason why people put them on a USB stick is to release the image flash memory on your receiver, You can also store them on an external or internal hard drive but i would never advise installing them in your flash memory

Picons have a high footpint on your storage capacity. That is to say that 100's of MB can be eaten only for this purpose.

The best way is to use an external storage, as picons are fancy but not vital.
What I did on my box is creating a folder on my HDD with picons, and a symlink in the original location (flash).

I wasn't aware they were that large in size. I would image if I download them from addons that I would not have the option of where to install.

Should I use the usb variation?

        Whats a symlink?

                The picon's names/references are correct?
                picon name=channel name?

Create a folder in USB (in /media/usb) called picon

                  and telnet this command:

                  -s /media/sdb1/picon /usr/share/enigma2

My usb is named siliconpower and it is mounted as /media/siliconpower

All my picons are named like this...

                        1_0_1_1B59_7DA_2_11A0000_0_0_0

                        See attachment.

There are 884 files in the picon folder. Surely I am not expected to rename them.
