Dbox 800 sim information needed

I am a bit lost with the various DM 800 sims version.
Is there a place where we can get some clear information on that.
What I am looking for is:

- How to identify sim versions.
- How to program sim.


From what I understood so far this sim contain the boot loader, so why so many versions ?

The Sim Version is located under the dm800.
btw what is the benefit of programming a sim? I dont think you need worry about programming the sim.

what I would like to know is when do you have to change sim, is it when satellite TV companies change encyption method or something?

Depends when and where you bought your dreambox. Most clones allow certain versions of software to be installed. When you boot you box do you see the version number there ?

I know my sim version from what the seller told me.
But this sim stuff is really confusing to me, why do we have so many on clones ?
Is it because the original on can not be copied ?

Depending on you sim you box will allow suitable images. i.e a fararri sim will allow fararri images.

Are they used only for flashing ?

sims can be changed or updated, threre are some providers over the net if you ******-it

Is Ferrari a good sim choice ?
I have ******d a lot, and it seems to be the best.
