Clone DM500

Is a "eagle 1000" box a clone of the DM500? and if so would eagle box be flashed with same image as a genuine DM500? thanks in advance

I dont thinks so, clones dont have seperate names, they're just clones. like pirated DVD's, Counterfeit Jeans etc

My friend has ended up buying a eagle box and has asked me to flash it, so when I connected eagle box through null modem cable and DreamUp it shows in the logs as box type dm500 so im just a bit

Maybe it is a clone...Since DreamUP recoginzes it as one..

maybe it uses the same motherboard as dm500, So I assume it will use the same images.

Eagle 1000 box also shows up in my router logs(attached devices) as a dreambox. Anyway I have flashed eagle box with Gemini 4.70, the same image I have on my own DM500s and it is working fine with CCam 2.2.1. My friend who's box it is told me the seller who he bought the eagle box from told him that DM500 are no longer being made and the eagle 1000 is the replacement. Is this seller telling the truth or is he making more $$$£££ selling people these eagle boxes??

Thats probably true, on the dreambox wikipedia page it says discontinued, thats for the genuine version, so they can't sell DM500 Clone so they have call it something else like Eagle 1000. and if they sell as Eagle 1000 then they probably get away selling on ebay as it against ebay rules to sell dreambox clones.

nothing wrong with clones, I have 2 dm800 clones and Im satisfied with them.

Yes your DM800 clones might work fine but if you check out the link above in Whinpo's post
there are not many people happy with there eagle 1000 boxes, also my friend believes he bought a genuine box.

Eagle are clones but are very good. I know of a couple of people who have them.
