    Thanks m8s
It probably plays enough formats to be useful.

    seen on -http://www.gboxforum.org/showthread.php?t=12503&highlight=directly
The dm800 can not play divx nor xvid, it can play avc mp4 though so it's surely fast enough to decode these mpeg 4 decoded files (it natively supports mkv HD content to play!)
You could convert your things to mp4 with several free converters...

So this plays natively on your dm800

    Mpeg 1 + 2
    vob (dvd's)
Mp4 (mpeg4, avc standard, also iso standard but resolution sucks)
MKV (HD, h264) "This really rocks"

well i tried it my self, installed AVI Demuxer and xvid divx plugin, it played the sound but not the video. it can play any h.264 file becuase its proccessed by hardware, the same hardware it uses to process High Definition channels, and it does not use any processor power, thats what i've read.

mkv is a container ,it can contain anything xvid divx etc, maybe bluray is h.264 format

Re: What format can dm800hd se play

    Hi

    I have dm800 (not dm800se)
my dm800 records in .ts extension, I believe it records in the same format its broadcasted in so MPEG2 if its SD, H.264 if it HD.

I read online that dm800 can not play files like divx / xvid because the proccessor is not powerful enough to decode them, however it can decode any h.264 format because the decoding is processed by h.264 hardware decoder and the same with mpeg2
