Hi,

Maybe the most stupid question of the day... but let's try...

Is it possible to stream an HD channel from a DM7000 (which doesn't support HD) to a PS3

the DM7000 would receive and decrypt the signal, but it can't render it, and would send it to a client which can render and display it...

i would say no, because the dreambox can't receive HD

Why can't I receive it? I got some HD channels in my list (done by a manual scan). So my tuner can find it

The main thing is that the tunner will be unable to recive it properly, so that is why even is detected it will be never posible to open it or to pass it to other HD capable device. Shortly a HD channel use a special modulation and coding that a SD reciver will never be able to recive and decode.

Some of HD channels work fine on SD recivers because they are transmited on DVB-S1 protocol

that's exactly the information I was missing....

another interesting thing to mention :

DVB-S2 offers optional backwards compatible modes that use hierarchical modulation to allow legacy DVB-S receivers to continue to operate, whilst providing additional capacity and services to newer receivers.

that explains why on some HD channels I was able to see something saying : purchase our HD bouquet and so on...

so that's totally impossible..too bad
