what the bext way to gett chennels tuned on dreambox

cab any boody help i have a dreambox 800 and to be honest i have loads of channels but i have noticed that on some sats i carnt get the channels i should be able to get i uploaded some channel list 58w to 75 e or some thing like that and most channels work but some dont now should i do a manual sat scan on every sat or should it be ok just with theh list i know i have nilesat and digiturk but some of the channels say tuner failed or some say nothing at all

Setting is definately old.
Download a new setting through addons.
You can do a scan after that with no problem.
Fine tune you dish (signal) if you are not receiving active channeks.

If you used to receive these Channels before then first make sure that your Dish/Motor are properly set, they might have moved slightly by time. See also your Usals settings in your Receiver Configuration if you are using this system, if you are using the Diseqc 1.2 than you have to tune each Sat position properly provided that you have the Dish/Motor settings ok. Finally you can download a new Channel list from this Forum and ftp to Receiver.

Sometimes nevertheless it is better to scan channels in a manual mode, there is a set of sites where it is possible to learn the latest transponders news

Hi m8, I think you would go better of searching for a channel list with the sattelites of your preference. use the blue buton on your remote control for online search

he just uploaded some motor settings
and the answer would be u can only see the channels your motor(if u have 1)
are locked on

I always prefer to do a manual scan and set my own bouquets, but if you do not have the time just download one of the many channel lists available on the forum

Vimmers is correct, OP didn't say if he had a motor or fixed dish.

In my opinion (IMO),

If you have a fixed dish, with single or multi-sat feeds.

Go to http://satellites-xml.eu/

Choose your fixed sats and download a clean satellites.xml file. Then ftp (FileZilla is a very good Ftp Program and free) to you Linux box (var/etc) Then do a normal scan.


If you have a motorised dish setup.

Check the satellite footprints on http://www.satbeams.com/footprints that you can recieve in your region, then go to http://satellites-xml.eu/ and select the all sats that you can get with your dish size and download the satellite.xml.
Ftp it to var/etc on your linux box and scan as multi-sat using all the sats you have specified in your satellites.xml file.

*** Go to setting and switch on automatic service updates (if not allready enabled), this will then give you new updates without interfering with your channel-lists/bouquets)***

The OP does say he gets some channels on some satellites but some of the channels are "tuner failed" so i would assume he has a motorised dish setup, I can answer your 7w nilesat question depending on your location in the UK i highly doubt you can pick any up at all maybe with a 1.2m dish and after 22:00hrs with a clear sky then you may pick a few transponders up.

As for most of the others you cant pick up dont worry about it, They are most likely outside the UK footprint for reliable reception.
