VU+ Duo will be my first choice after my dreamboxes go faulty

Dont get me wrong i like the VU+ Duo but its now over 18months old and its successor is about to be launched in the shape of the Ultimo another great box.

But the VU+ team are now lagging behind the Clarke Tech/Xtrend team as there ET5000/6000 and ET9000/9100/9200 are already running the new 3.1 linux kernel which is far superior compared to the old 2.xx version which the Duo runs and so do dreamboxes.

at the moment the best buy would be a Clark Tech/Xtrend Enigma2 receiver they are way ahead of the other developers.

that was a good price, but you can see my point as new boxes coming on market, thats progress no doubt, dreamboxes seem to hold there value for quite a few years, just like a classic car. will read about them vu+duo, think at one time there were 3 versions.

DM 800 HD se is a good one. I haven't tried DM 8000 yet.

A quad tuner Dreambox able to take 4 seperate inputs and record 4 different stations at the same time.

Its faster than the 800hd as well as it employs the same processor as whats in the 800se 400mhz to be exact

Yes DM8000 is great in every aspect, but it is overpriced.
You are talking about a high end box.
Most people do not use all it's good features.

VU+ is more reasonably priced and a new version is out.

DM800se original is a good choice but the price high.
A clone version is very reasonably priced and performs very well.
This what I would go for if you are after a clone.
But it is a matter of luck when getting a box from china.

There is also the new DM7020HD with a very good performance.

Stay away from 800HD, but 800HD pro is also a good choice since it comes with a better tuner (ver. M) and has a built in fan.

The best option available is DM8000 clone.
It comes with Ferrari card.
costs 1/2 the original box

I have read very good reports about their trouble free performance by moderators of many forums.
And the price being 1/2 of the original box price with the same performance is not bad at all.
