must say that dm500 now new clones work better than the original in some option, better support etc etc, they are much faster than ultimate dm like dm800 but not as sofisticated. Remember that one of the greatest avantages of dm800 is the hd and enigma 2 support so...

DM800 Hd that I am using is small and comfortable.It is also easy to use even for nonprofessionals.On the other hand overheating is a problem.I solved the problem using a fan which takes the power via usb connection of dm.
Of course DM8000HD is a bit more professional .It is for the ones who are satellite addicts.I am also one of those and I prefer to use DM800HD:

i think the best for you is one wich you can buy if you do not have much money one dream 800 hd is good i used one from 1 year and work good but of course bettere is dream 800 hd but is expensive so you decide.

the dm7020hd at our sat shop for sale at £549, bit out of my price range, probably a very good box as improvements and extras added, but if you lucky go for it.
i will try the dm800 box next, most peeps saying this box best, clone or original.
a copy will aways be a bit less in price.

the best dm hd is dm 8000hd, it costs around 600-1000 euro (with hard disk)
and is the best of all linux receivers.

did not know that, let me know if im wrong but does the dreamboxes have an internal hard drive for recording, an how much storage, dont know a lot about these boxes.

Your better off with a clone than the original on the price front example 800se costs around £429 in the UK i got mine 3 days delivered from china for £155 no competition there at all, The 800 se will also take a 2.5" hard drive if you so wish for recording or external hard drive via USB.

As for the DM8000 i would never pay the £849 it goes for here although it does have 4 tuners the clone equivalent is about £289.

But for a few quid more you could get an official VU+ Duo or even the better specced ET9000 dual tuner box that does not rely on clone images.
