How do I set up a c line on db500s

I have a dm500s running edge nemesis 4.4 and cccam 2.14 and Id like to try one of the free servers in preparation to card sharing,
What do I need to do to put in a cline and how do I do it.

Hello, first you need to install FTP client (if you don't have already installed). I prefer Filezilla.

Then connect to your box using the IP of your box, root username and password (default user is "root" and password is "dreambox").
When you see the listing with directories inside your DM500 locate to /var/etc/ and download CCcam.cfg to your PC. Then open the file with text editor and paste your c line at the top. Save and close the file. When you're done upload it again in the same location and overwrite the original file.
Now your box should successfully open encrypted channels.

I use a text editor that has FTP capability (editplus). You can FTP direct into the box using it, edit the file and save it back. No need to copy it from the box to a PC, edit and upload back.

Usually only one per server (ie, just one satlover line, but if you have one from another server, put that one in as well).

Sorry to ask so many questions Tonybod but:
How long do clines usualy last for and do they all work and can you give me an example of an encrypted channel easy to decrypt.
Too many variables to be easy.

It depends from the sharing server. There are payservers that are supposed to work stable but you have to pay monthly fee. The free servers usually last for 1-2 days.

The satlover c-line will last until Mr. Satlover changes the port number or username. Most of the other free c-lines either don't work at all or last about a day. However, I still have one in my cfg file from 4 or 5 weeks ago which still works. so its a bit hit and miss.

Dont suppose its possible to give me a hint on a package or even a satellite as all lines and packages give me nothing. The router lights do nothing either.

If you are trying to connect to satlover.com servers - they are down temporarily.

Make sure you are actually connected. The best thing to do is go to a browser and enter
http://<DREAMBOX_IP>:16001/servers

That will let you know if you are connected or not.

The satlover servers will clear a lot of channels, but be prepared for some picture freezing and some disconnections.

Go to blue menu addons
donwload and install
cccam 2.1.4
cccam.cfg
now u need ftp program (use total comander or ddc)
ftp to box (root,dreambox are def. username and pass.)
in var/etc/cccam.cfg paste c line and save
