Helps you create installation packages for your Windows applications
Excelsior was designed to be an easy to use installation authoring software that would enable you to create your first installation in two mouse click and in the next several minutes setup it for your needs.
Here are some key features of "Excelsior Installer":
· Display a splash screen (optional)
· Display a license agreement and require the user to accept it before
· proceeding (optional)
· Let the user select the installation folder
· Copy all application's files and folders into the selected folder
· Create shortcuts in standard locations (Start Menu, Desktop, Startup Menu)
· Create a registry entry for the application (optional)
· Register an uninstaller
· Run typical post-install actions (optional)
Requirements:
· CPU: Intel Pentium II or compatible at 266 MHz or higher
· RAM: 128 MB minimum, 256 MB or more recommended
· Disk Space: 34 MB
What's New in This Release:
Full 64-bit Windows folder access:
· 64-bit variations of special Windows folders, such as Program Files, Common Files and SysWoW64, are made available for selection as a target for installation roots. If the package uses such targets then the installer will not set it up on 32-bit Windows.
Subfolders for shortcuts:
· It is made possible to create subfolders of shortcuts folder at Start Menu \ Programs of the target system.
Low resolution screens supported:
· If your screen is too small for the Packager window (1020 х 670 pixels), it will now automatically expose appropriate scrollbars to make it possible to work on, say, netbooks.
Uninstallation completion check:
· The uninstaller now supports two new parameters which help to wait for the uninstallation completion and to check if it was successful.
Automatic update check:
· The Packager is now able to check Excelsior site for updates of the product you use. The check is performed once a month by default.
