You can register on MS even with a fake name and download it.
This is a beta version, so you will not have it forever in your pc.

Just download it, test it and when the official version be released , remove it.

A beta expires after a while. If you download that beta from a torrent it expires as well.
Only the trojans that might be included in that torrent might not expire.

I can't download it.
Am I too dumb to download it? I went on their page to download it. Signed up but when I try to download the download stops at 12 percent. I tried it four time.
Has anyone got the same problem?

I'd recommend Micro$oft to skip producing windows at all for, say hundred years, and try to produce something else. :)

using the "win 10" actually "Win Tech preview" since it was released and its feels really good. I installed in a dual boot but have almost ditched the prev OS

to download, search for "windows tech preview" and pick the 1st search result..

I think there will be a charge, they cannot keep giving software away, firms need to generate money to invest in the future, and if you use Microsoft properly they give most of the extra progs for free.

They might make it free in order to create other software like new versions of Office that need certain features that are only possible to make in W10. So give away the OS to generate income because people need to update other programs.

Compare it with making a car that will be given away for free but only runs on the (expensive) fuel only you can sell them.

I doubt is going to be free , i can't remember Microsoft giving anything away for free , good thing about Windows it can easily be hacked and copies of any OS so far have appeared on the interweb soon after official release .

Back on topic , according to reputable magazines, in the future there won't be major releases of windows , just an evolution more akin to Android and Mac OS. This will be good for consumers and businesses alike.
