Install Openelc on Virtual PC, Windows 7

    Has anyone tried this?
I am interested in installing xbmc or Openelc ( preferably Openlec) on Virtual PC.
I have searched google and most sites are about installing on virtual BOX not virtual PC!

    Thanks

Goto the xbmc forum, and see if you box is supported, find out what chips are used in your box ,arm processors are well supported.
If you cannot find it on there then you are out of luck.

Are you looking at XBMC type features ? As this seems to be fully supported in virtual pc under windows 7.

There are absolutely no problem to run OpenELEC in Virtual Machine.
I tried it on Linux PC with VMWare Player
I don't see absolutely no difference what host system you run.
-Download VMWare Player for your system, e.g. for win7 - it's absolutely free.
-Install openelec from USB Stick or virtual CD Rom
          -Enjoy (if it's possible)

But I think it's much better to install XBMC right on your win7. OpenELEC is a HTPC solution. I don't see no reason to run it on a virtual PC...

The OpenELEC directly in linux is much faster and works better, try it and see
