Re: Internet security on smart tv

yes no security on smart tvs as also low security on smart phones even with some antivirus installed. the smart tv cannot (as far as i know) become a serious problem for other home internet devices. cant see the way a hacker can enter to your pc via the tv.

Yeah actually, i think there is no way a hacker could hack you through your tv, as i don't even there are actually vulnerabilities that the hackers would use, as there are not even that much people using web services with their tv, so it's not even worthy to develop something like that until there are most people using this.
If you think my post was helpfull for you, i would be glad if you click the thanks button.

for attack to each system you need information about operation system so the operation system files tv are hidden so i dont think someone can write virus or enter operation system.

                Hi, guys.
Many of us have home TVs with Smart TV and we actively use this function. But among us there are already those who suffered from hacking your TV?

As said before, it is possible!!

                  And it will be done!

And the next step is to get access to the complete home-network.

yes the video is real but i think he manage access within the house internet and as i said before noone proof yet that he can have access to something else than the tv. so 2 steps to feel safer. A use usb with no other files than videos and music (no personal files) B close your tv from the switch.

From what i have read there seems to some mixed views on the security on a smart tv but i think i will turn off the wi fi on the tv when its not in use and not keep any personal info stored on the hard drive just be on the safe side

the speed mine goes at is a disgrace max upload speed 100k and the provider say this is good.it would take them 2.5 hours to download a 750 meg file

Like a lot of these things it is often just to prove they can do it being their motivation, that and the chaos it causes as it means people are reluctant to use the features that are available to them. It seems that there will always be some person out there who has a point to prove.

                          Regards Mobley3

Re: Internet security on smart tv

The problem is, that mostly your smart-tv is embedded to your home network.
So someone who has access to your tv could easily do the next step and get access to the rest.
Remember the playstation-network 2 years ago...

How can we determine that a hacker penetrated in our TV? If anything is damaged and TV continues to work, is there a way to determine the breakup of our Smart TV?

From what i have read there is no way to to tell that you tv has been hacked so best not to keep any important info on your tv just in case
