Hello,

Right clicking on the HDMI output and put setting as default device, and you'll see the audio will work on the HDMI :)

And you can (or have to) to configure the best resolution for your Monitor or Television with hdmi. Sometimes this depends on the cable you use.

Nothing different from win xp
You need to open display properties, choose the monitor connected via hdmi and edit it's properties. In case of nvidia cards you may use nvidia control panel to manage it.
To send the sound via hdmi you need to choose a hdmi audio device as primary in audio system properties. But you have to bear in mind that your TV won't decode AC3 stream, received via hdmi, only pcm.

If you want to connect to a television at 1080p with a short whire (up to 3m), no problem. If you want to connect to a beamer with longer cable (10m) use lower resolution. 1080p can be a big problem in that case.

if he keeps the resolution low then how he will manage 1080p mean full hd resolution

When you use 1080p you have a lot data amount. A long cable loses signal quality. 1080i or 720p use ~half of the data amount than 1080p. I have a 10m hdmi cable for my beamer and my experience are:

720p - ok
1080i - ok
1080p - no way

With my 3m cable to my tv everything is ok on 1080p.

The problem is (sometimes) the loss of signal quality by long (and cheap) cables.
Here you can buy a cable for 3 Euros or for 300 Euros. For short distances (1 -3 m) a cheap cable is good enough, for longer distances you have freezes, dropouts or complete signal-loss. Its not the problem of the beamer.

As a recent purchase that I have made, I strongly reccomend the Nikkai Hdmi video sender which sends FULL HD HDMI streams over a wireless range of 25m. The quality is unbelieavable, so if you are trying to send the HDMI over a distance this is what you need.

Seems to be a real alternative, but a bit expensive (150 Euros and more I saw).
How many meters do you transmit your signal?

I have a cheap 5m hdmi cable. Sometimes there is absolutly no connect with 1080p and sometimes everything works well. Strange effect and I don't know why.

This sounds to me that there are two possible reasons:

1. Your cable is broken

2. Cheap cable can cause a hdcp-handshake problem. No handshake - no data transmission on hdmi. Sometimes older equipment has this hdmi problem.

What happens if you use a better cable?

It's a hdd-recorder for my sat receiver from 2007. Nothing I can do?

I have the same problem with an older DVD/HDD-recorder from LG. Sometimes it had sound with hdmi, sometimes not. Then I found the solution.
The recorder must be started first (with the television turned off). After a view seconds you can switch the TV on and everything is ok.
When I start the TV first and then the recorder, I have no sound and the picture shivers (frequence problem).

Perhaps this could solve your problem.
