Is it possible to install XP and 7 together?

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to install XP and 7 in the same PC.
These days I have been very busy because of my pc. I have had formatted it.
First I installed Win7 and it worked fine, but my pc sat didn't works fine.
So I reinstalled my old win XP and now my SkyStar HD 2 PCI is ok. But I would like to install Win7 to another partition in the same pc. So I don't know very well how can I do in order to boot the O.S. I prefer each time.

    Thanks, best regards.

When you boot up the windows 7 CD. Choose "custom install". Then you will have the possibility to create and delete partition to install windows on. Try it out and let me know if any problem.

Don't think it matters. Just put xp in one partition and windows 7 in the other.
Good idea to backup all your files first.

I'm afraight to lose both O.S.
          Best regards.

            hi

Why do you fear loosing both your os? If you have both original versions and take back-ups of your important programs and files, there's no risk.
Don't know sure and don't know why, but my feeling says to install the xp first.

One method I tested in school.
You unplug your OS hardrive ,put a new one to install a fresh OS.
once finished ,you plug all your hardrive !
                Works both with 7,XP,98..
Then when you boot, you choose your boot drive to boot on your OS;)

                  hi

that's correct if you have 2 HDD's ; as I understood there's only 1 HDD, and question is to work with 2 partitions with different OS (but on same harddisk).
Or am I missing something here?

Hi i've got it setted up like this. It matters wich os you trying to put first.
You need to instal XP first then Win7 i've got it like this in my mashine.
When I've been trying to put first 7 then xp, it wasnt working.
And ive got it on two different disks, but it doesnt matter, you can use just one, but make a two partitions.
Dual boot is good thing, i'm running it more then two years without any reinstall. Good luck.

There is so much info on settnig up dual boot systems on the web and on you tube, I don't think we need to recreate it all here.
