Always scary when flashing the Bios too many things run through your head, (what if their is a power outage etc.) and end up with a bricked computer. glad you are back in business M8.

If the BIOS recognises hardware then WIN 7 will boot and only then any driver issues can be sorted out the problem was 'thecrazybandit' could not boot with new hardware.

Perhaps you can use a program called Driver Genius. Its a paaid program but easily can download via p2p. It will update all the drivers automatically. You will never need to install a driver again and Your windows will be updated all the time.

I use everyday driver genius and is very easy to use, if you want to see your computer's hardware uses AIDA is shareware and you can also see the hardware of your computer.
Please search in google - driver genius portable 11 -, and download a portable version, this version dont need any installation, only execute, .

imedia007 ddriver genious is a progrsmme which only installed and update the driver for only recogniosed hardwear if the hardwear is not recogniosed by the pc then it is useless to installed the driver genius .if u know the hardwer name and version the simple way is that just go to the hardwear website and download the new driver for the said hardwear

Windows 7 is so smart itself that it updates the drivers database from microsoft every now and then. These days almost all hardwares are digitally signed by microsoft and there shouldn't be any problem with finding a driver for the hardware. Let window search automatically for the drivers.

yes microchik it is the easiest way upgrade or install thr driver softwear from microsoft database but now days for a support of those hardwear which are not digitally a cd is available in the market named universial drivers which contain 150,000 drivers for windows xp, vista and windows 7 one can also installed driver softwear for digitally and non digitally signed hardwear

The CD you are talking about sounds like a pirated software disc. Its almsot impossible to get a pirated disc of so many softwares anywhere in the uk, unless there are some underground shops in the south? you can get drivers only with the product which would be legal from the manufacturer or you can just download it from their website. This is called Digital UK my friend.

i do not know abt its piracy as i m not living in the UK but here in my country it is easily available in the each and every coputer market and all the people using it .

Yes it is a bit of a nerve breaking job flashing BIOS but the total job takes about 30 seconds. How many power outage do you get in the UK? If you get a power outage whilst flashing the BIOS you will be very very unlucky and you could be one in a Billion to face this problem. So i would say to be brave and stop worrying about the power outage.

Point taken microchick, but when it comes to updating firmware of any kind many people get very nervous about it. I used power outage as an example, but as the job seems to have been successful I don't think there is any need to worry. I live in Ireland where the mains supply is also very stable but sadly that is not the case in many other countries.

Yes Mobley3, I forgot about the 3rd world countries. The most worrying thing for me would be" Is it the right upgrade software and the right version?" The BIOS softwares are so tiny and uncommon that most of the time you dont know anything about them and as soon you click a button to upgrade, you are just sat there with your fingers crossed (and toes), LOL

I have decided to go back to windows xp after a month of trial with windows 7 i have come to the conclusion that 1 gb of ram is not enough to run windows 7 as soon as i started to add a few programs it slowed down almost to a halt

u r this decision is good for u and u r pc to down drade to win xp again now the windows 8 in in expermintal age and will soon the widows 8 pc will come to market then buy one for u and now ve a luck with xp

Gpu: Ati Raedon 5450HD
Hdd: 250GB
Is Windows 8 compatible with this computer?
Or Windows 7 is better?
