Re: turn off, hibernateor stand by for laptops?

    Hi ,
    I know this simply difference:
    Stand by
Your machine recovers quickly as your data is stored in RAM. The slower part is waking up the peripherals. Although your machine is in "standby" the power has been cut to items such as your hard drive and monitor. You're running your machine in a very low power mode, but it is still on. This mode can be useful if you're on a notebook and need to conserve your battery while you step away.
    with Hibernate
The big difference is that your PC has shut down and is not pulling power. Another difference is that your data is saved to your hard disk and not RAM. This makes it a safer, but slower option for shut down and resume.
    Have a nice day

No you should not disconnect the battery while the laptop is in hibernate.
This could easily damage the memory , motherboard or hard drive.

It many ways ,except for power use and expense , it is better to leave them on. Most damage is due to thermal expansion and contraction.

The only reason to use hibernate in my view is for a system which has random start up errors, as once started they will often function correctly,

Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops, hibernation
puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off
your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the
least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you
won't use your laptop for an extended period and won't have an opportunity to
charge the battery during that time.

Yeah, thanks for the answer but I meant if you are working on your laptop without battery only on power supply.
Will it damage your laptop also if you haven't got any battery connected and put it into hibernate?
If I helped you please press thanks button!

Hibernation simply saves the state of your windows environment to the hard drive and "shuts down" so it is exactly the same thing as Shut down but with the added benefit of carrying on from exactly where you left off the next time you start up.

              Hi ,
I believe that laptop is freezed in a ram location just to have a quick resume at power on.
Ram has consume very very low so battery damaged a part, it's garanteed a long possibility to maintain data stored after hibernation.
              Have a nice evening.
