Re: win beta 8

If you want to use the Windows Store to download WinRT apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768, and if you want to snap two WinRT apps side by side, that goes up to a minimum of 1366 x 768...

In Windows 8 you can connect to a PC at work from a Windows 8 system, with Remote Desktop or a VPN, you can combine multiple hard drives into one storage 'pool' that has multiple copies of your files and you can mount VHD and ISO images as if they were hard drives – but you can't boot from a VHD file.

As Windows 8 = Windows 7 + an App based skin Windows 7 files will work automatically.

The real difference between Win 8 and previous versions is that Windows 8 is finished; it's polished and smooth, with even better performance than in the previews, and none of the rough edges left.

The windows surface tablet utilises this new OS very well. They have started to make use of the app features and aesthatics, like Apple have done with their rounded square app.

Although it will be a little tricky to adjust as windows is defined by its GUI, when I sampled the OS the other day, I found ti difficult to understand exactly how the OS was made up, in the sense of installed programs and its system files initially.

Personally, I believe that this new windows 8 is goign to be at its best on touch screen devices such as tablets of touchscreen desktops.

Re: win beta 8

From what I have seen and read it looks like a good way to connect if everything you have is linked to windows live (e-mail,xbox, cloud, etc) . I really don't care about touch gimmicks and that's just a personal preference, but if the security is better and it is faster and you use live frequently , then I would strongly consider.

Re: win beta 8

infact windows 8 is designed for desktop and touch screens to make the touch surface better by performance and if every thing is upgraded live and the microsoft gave full support to the os then it is better than the previous versions

But there is one thing.
Windows 8 dindn't have any big succes like windows 7.
Microsoft told that they have selled only one third of products as they had expected because windows 8 isn made escpecially for tabelts and only few people with deskop pc's will find it good.
Bad news for microsoft

I think most of the young generation will find it god because its calssy, its attractive and it has got all your x-box games on it. It can also transfer your x-box games to your windows phone.

It seems MS has messed up allowing pirates to legitimise their copies of Win 8 or is it a strategy to increase the the take up of Win 8, the sales of which have been sluggish.
You got till January.:D

Our thoughts on Windows 8 RT seems to be on the button, who would want to buy Windows 8 RT a crippled version of Windows 8.
According to the report, Microsoft recently cut its orders with Far East supply chain partners in half. Digitimes’ sources say Microsoft had initially called for 4 million Surface tablets to be built and shipped by the end of 2012, but that figure now sits at 2 million. For comparison — since Microsoft has repeatedly positioned its Windows RT-powered Surface tablet as an iPad competitor — Apple (AAPL) sold approximately 4.7 million iPads per month last quarter.

The report also notes that demand for Windows RT devices from vendors including Dell, Asus and Samsung has been weak, and the poor reception to Windows RT may force Microsoft to launch its Surface Pro tablet with Windows 8 ahead of schedule in December.
